Cr4+:YAG Crystal
Cr4+:YAG (Chromium-doped Yttrium Aluminium Garnet) is a chromium-doped garnet-structure single crystal widely used as a passive Q-switch (saturable absorber) in solid-state lasers, including Nd:YAG and Yb:YAG systems.
Cr4+:YAG crystals enable passive Q-switching without the need for electro-optic components, allowing for more compact laser designs while producing short, high-intensity pulses. They are valued for their broad absorption band, high damage threshold, and good thermal stability.
