Silicon Seed Crystals
Monocrystalline silicon seed crystals are precision-cut samples of high-purity single-crystal silicon, sharing the same crystal orientation as the ingot to be grown. Used in the Czochralski (CZ) process, the seed crystal is dipped into molten silicon and slowly withdrawn, guiding the melt to solidify into a single continuous crystal with the same lattice orientation — making it essential for producing defect-free silicon ingots for semiconductor and photovoltaic applications.
