Zinc-Tin Sputtering Target

Zinc-tin (ZnSn) is a metallic alloy target used as the source material for reactive sputtering in an oxidizing atmosphere, where it forms zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4), a transparent, high-index oxide layer with useful optical and protective properties.

Sputtered ZnSn thin films are reactively sputtered in an oxygen-containing atmosphere to deposit zinc stannate layers used in high-transmittance, low-emissivity architectural and automotive glass coatings, as well as protective oxide layers within multilayer optical coating stacks.
