SD-980 Pulsed Carbon Coater for SEM
SD-980 is a pulsed carbon coater ideal for SEM sample preparation. It is a fully automated carbon coater using carbon rope as the evaporation source. Applying this coating is an effective preparation technique for diminishing charge-up electron artifacts for analysis in a SEM. Its pulsed mode can protect samples from heat damage. It can quickly reach its working vacuum pressure with a proper vacuum pump. Users can easily control heating power (current) and pulsing time (recipe) with the touch screen. The package includes a vacuum pump. Thickness monitor is available as an option.
Key Features
Pulsed evaporation: Pulsed mode protects samples from heat damage during carbon coating.
Carbon rope source: Evaporates carbon rope to form a thin conductive film that reduces charging in SEM.
Touch screen recipes: Set heating current and pulse time on the touch screen for repeatable results.
Fast pump-down: Reaches the 2 Pa vacuum limit in under 5 minutes; working pressure 4–6 Pa.
Compact desktop unit: 390 × 310 × 290 mm with a scratch-resistant quartz glass chamber.
