Titanium-Nickel Sputtering Target

Titanium-nickel (TiNi), also known as Nitinol, is a near-equiatomic shape-memory alloy renowned for its superelasticity, shape-memory effect, and excellent biocompatibility. These unique properties, uncommon among other alloys, make TiNi sputtered thin films valuable for applications where precise, repeatable mechanical response to temperature or stress is required.

Sputtered TiNi films are used to fabricate thin-film MEMS actuators, microvalves, and sensors that exploit the shape-memory effect at microscale dimensions. TiNi coatings are also applied in biomedical devices such as stents and surgical instruments, where biocompatibility combined with superelastic behavior is essential.
