
CZTSSe Sputtering Target
CZTSSe (Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4) is a kesterite-structured quaternary semiconductor composed of earth-abundant, non-toxic elements, offering a tunable direct bandgap (roughly 1.0-1.5 eV depending on the sulfur-to-selenium ratio) well suited to photovoltaic light absorption.
Sputtered CZTSSe thin films are used as the light-absorbing layer in kesterite thin-film solar cells, offering a lower-cost, indium- and gallium-free alternative to CIGS. Both single quaternary CZTSSe sputtering targets and metallic Cu-Zn-Sn precursor sputtering (followed by selenization/sulfurization) are established routes to fabricating the absorber layer, with reported laboratory efficiencies exceeding 10%.
